October Goals – September Update 2020

Here’s how my September Goals went….

To plant oregano, parsley and cilantro in the pots that have dead plants in them #RIP

GOAL MET: I planted parsley and cilantro. I couldn’t find oregano seeds for some reason. BUT, in place of the oregano, I planted a salsa mix which contained, tomatoes, jalepeno peppers and green peppers. Making your own salsa is soooooooo much better than store bought. If you are starting off with a garden, I recommend planting veggies for salsa before anything else. As you can see, the salsa mix have yet to grow but hopefully there will be more progress when I do my October update.

To get more Vitamin D via sun

GOAL NOT MET: It’s just been two fricking hot for me to go out in this humidity. But by the looks of it, the first week in October should be niiiiiiice! Guarantee I’ll be soaking in some sun in October!

Get back to Yoga

GOAL NOT MET: Although I barely did any yoga this month, I did get some cardio in. I have been walking at least 1.5 miles to 3 miles, doing 20 crunches, 20 arm and shoulder exercises and 20 leg squats each day. I’m starting to see a difference in my body already and feel really good.

OCTOBER GOALS

Publish one post on my blog a week

I am soooo inconsistent with this blog! So my goal is, one post, once a week. It’s not like I don’t have stuff to say because there’s always weird crap going on in my head that I feel comfortable sharing, I’m just lazy. There I said it!

To clean my car!

Guys, the inside of my car is a total mess and it needs help. I just put 4 brand new tires on it and got it serviced. It’s got about 91,000 miles on it and drives like a champ, so it’s time for it to get a nice detailing.

Exercise

To continue with my exercise routine that I have now and maybe bump up the yoga.

September 2020 GOALS!

I’ve noticed over the years that I’m always a better, more efficient person when I write my goals down.  When I see them in black and white, it feels like it’s not just in my head, but something I have to prove to myself that I can do. Sometimes I reach the goals, sometimes I don’t but the important thing is that I write them down and try my very best to achieve them.

Each month I am going to post my goals for that month on this blog starting today! Okay, let’s get to the goals!

GOALS

To plant oregano, parsley and cilantro in the pots that have dead plants in them #RIP

It’s been sooooo hot in Florida that every time I go outside my face feels like it’s going to melt off so I have had no desire to be outside at all. My sinuses can’t take extreme humidity so I pretty much hibernate during the summer months and come out of hiding in September (ish).

The plants that have been in these pots have seen better days even though they’ve been watered regularly by the loads of rain that we have had this summer plus them being watered by hand. This month I’m tearing whatever is left of the plants and planting oregano, parsley and cilantro. I’ve grown herbs before and they do very well, it’s just hard to keep with them in the summer so this will be a September project.

To get more Vitamin D via sun

So as I mentioned above, me and humidity do not get along, but I do enjoy sun on my face and not being so pale! My goal is to get out in the sun at least 2 times a week for at least a half an hour. Vitamin D supplements are great for people and especially women, but, there’s nothing like straight up Vitamin D from the sun. As September rolls through, it will start to cool down just a little where it’s bearable, not to mention, fresh air!  Summers in Florida are constant AC. There’s no break! There’s no let’s open the windows to air out the house. Nope, AC 24/7. I am soooo looking forward to opening the windows soon!

Get back to Yoga

Damnit! I LOVE Yoga! I used to go to classes once a week. Absolutely LOVED it. Then my instructor cut down on her classes and mine was one that got cut. I think that may be 4 years ago? Something like that but since then I’ve probably done 8 downward facing dogs and 10 warrior poses in those 4 years! Pathetic. My goal in September is to put time aside to get back on the Yoga train. I am such a routine person that I KNOW once I get on the routine, it will be something that I do all the time. It’s just getting off my ass and doing it!

And that’s all ! I’m starting small so they will be attainable. If I can’t do this, I might as well hang it up!
